Memorial Day Visitation

The last visitation of the 2012-2013 school year was held on Memorial Day, in which 8 hardworking individuals served around 375 people.  This visitation was also located at Franklin Square in DC, which has become a regular site for Operation Fly to serve food.  It is a convenient location and efficiently reaches many homeless people in the area.  The food was cooked the morning of the visit, so  the spaghetti, meatballs, and brownies were very fresh and the homeless people seemed to really enjoy the food.  Water was also provided, and there was a more abundant supply of plates,, napkins, serving spoons, and utensils to allow a smoother serving process. These visitations have been effective, helpful, and rewarding and Operation Fly will undoubtedly continue them this year (2013-2014).
